Yakir, a rheumatologist and trained computer scientist, will use his BroadIgnite funding to analyze blood samples using advanced machine-learning approaches, detailing a quantitative picture of how immune states vary in both health and disease. With this map, doctors can someday precisely identify—and treat—the root cause of a patient’s immunological dysfunction.
