Vijay Kuchroo is an associate member of the Broad Institute, the Samuel L. Wasserstrom Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, co-director of the Center for Infection and Immunity at the Brigham Research Institutes, and director of the recently formed Evergrande Center for Immunologic Diseases at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His major research interests include the genetic basis of autoimmune diseases, including type 1 diabetes, and the regulatory factors that contribute to susceptibility and resistance to autoimmune diseases.

J. Christopher Love is an associate member of the Broad Institute, an associate professor of chemical engineering at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, and an associate member at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT, and Harvard. Love and his team combine principles use chemical engineering and materials science to develop new micro- and nanotechnologies to characterize complex immune responses in chronic human diseases such as HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, food allergies, and cancer.

Ruslan Medzhitov is the David W. Wallace Professor of Immunobiology at Yale University School of Medicine and Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator. The current research in his laboratory is focused on allergy, inflammation, infection biology, cell signaling, and transcriptional control of cell fate decisions.

Hans Oettgen is the associate chief of the Division of Immunology at Boston Children’s Hospital and a professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, where he holds an endowed chair. In addition to directing clinical programs, he leads a research group committed to unraveling the immunological mechanisms underlying food allergy and asthma.

Aviv Regev, a computational and systems biologist, is a professor of biology at MIT, a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator, and the Chair of the Faculty and the director of the Klarman Cell Observatory and Cell Circuits Program at the Broad Institute. She studies the molecular circuitry that governs the function of mammalian cells in health and disease and has pioneered many leading experimental and computational methods for the reconstruction of circuits, including in single-cell genomics.

Wayne Shreffler is the director of the Food Allergy Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, the division chief of pediatric allergy and immunology at MassGeneral Hospital of Children, a principal investigator at the Center for Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases, and an associate professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. His research and multi-disciplinary clinical program focus on the characterization of the immune response to food allergens and the early stages of allergen-induced immune reaction.

Ramnik Xavier, an institute member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, is also Chief of Gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Kurt Isselbacher Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and the director of MGH’s Center for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). As a clinical gastroenterologist and molecular biologist, he studies the specific molecular mechanisms involved in innate and adaptive immunity as well as the genetic variants associated with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and autoimmunity.
