FASI Symposium 2019

The Broad Institute hosted the second annual Food Allergy Science Initiative (FASI) symposium on March 18, 2019.

Entitled “Neuro-immune Communications in Food Allergy,” the symposium focused on an exciting new research direction—the interplay between the nervous and immune systems in food allergy. Presentations by leading researchers and clinicians covered topics ranging from how we crave specific foods, to how the nervous and immune systems jointly sense food allergens and how these pathways drive allergic reactions.

The symposium drew more than 200 attendees and we were thrilled to host this budding community of food allergy advocates, researchers, and clinicians. With the success of our second gathering, we hope to strengthen existing collaborations and foster new ones to ultimately solve the food allergy epidemic.

We look forward to our next symposium! In the meantime, please visit giving.broadinstitute.org/fasi for the latest program updates.
